Shims: thickness you can trust
A shim is only as good as its thickness. We cut shims from shim stock whose thickness is certified, check the thickness with a micrometre and mark the gauge on every shim. A material certificate for the stock is available on request. See precision shims.
Finish checks
For painted and powder-coated parts we agree the coating checks with you, such as coating thickness, adhesion by cross-hatch, and salt-spray exposure, and the acceptance limits for each.
Design targets, not guarantees
Protection ratings (IP), design loads and similar figures on our product pages are design targets for the reference design. They are confirmed by test on the first article of each order, and the test is agreed with you. Where a standard applies, tell us which, and we confirm what we can meet before quoting.

Quality-system and product certificates differ by order. Ask us before you order which ones apply, and we answer plainly.
Can you supply a material certificate?
A material certificate for the sheet, tube or shim stock is available on request.
What is a first article?
The first piece or lot of a new product, made to the drawing and checked against the inspection plan. You approve it, and later lots follow it.
Are the product ratings guaranteed?
Ingress-protection ratings, loads and similar figures on the product pages are design targets. They are confirmed by test on the first article for each order, and the test is agreed with you.
